Sarah joined the London Community Foundation team in 2019, from a background of working in youth development, including employability and social action programmes. She has extensive experience in managing programmes for young people, developing partnerships and participatory approaches at grassroots level.
Role
Sarah is one of The London Community Foundation’s Heads of Grants and Impact. She has oversight of a portfolio of grant programmes and partnerships, including our partnership with the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC). This includes managing a small team of Grant Programmes Managers and a wide range of responsibilities that ensure high quality, efficient and effective operations of our grant-making. Sarah is also responsible for coordinating learning and development at The London Community Foundation.

Sarah’s background in youth development influences all that she does, and her work with MOPAC has enabled her to develop her understanding and expertise around the significant work going on to tackle violence against women and girls in London. She is committed to encouraging more participatory approaches in grant-making, including use of community led panels and sector expertise in decision making. Sarah champions the importance of learning and development and loves seeing The London Community Foundation team grow and flourish in their roles.

Sarah has recently taken on coaching her son’s U10s football team. She loves the grassroots football system and is astonished by how much planning and administration is involved and how many volunteers dedicate their time to make everything run smoothly!
