Together for London - cost-of-living campaign

In the summer of 2022 as the price of energy soared, we became deeply concerned about the impact of the rising cost-of-living on London’s communities. We undertook a survey of 133 community organisations to understand the challenges of increasing costs, rising demand and desperate need in their communities and the results compelled us to take action.

In August 2022 we launched a fundraising appeal which attracted over £2.2 million in donations in just a few months.

We were blown away by the solidarity and generosity of funders, businesses and individuals who wanted to help their fellow Londoners in a time of crisis.

The Together for London funding contributed towards heat, light and storage costs, provided top up ingredients when donations were low, helped to secure match funding and enabled a sustained project delivery.

Over the winter, from November 2022 to March 2023, the London Community Foundation awarded grants of up to £10,000 to a total of 216 organisations.
