Sarah Amato

Head of Grants and Impact

Sarah has 15 years of experience as a grants/programme manager for international NGOs. She has lived and worked in both humanitarian and development contexts, including across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Role

Sarah is one of The London Community Foundation’s Heads of Grants and Impact. She has oversight of a portfolio of grant programmes and partnerships, including our partnership with the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC). This includes managing a small team of Grant Programmes Managers and a wide range of responsibilities that ensure high quality, efficient and effective operations of our grant-making. Sarah is also responsible for supporting the development and roll out of various systems improvement projects at The London Community Foundation.

Sarah is passionate about food security - ensuring everyone, regardless of background and circumstances, has access to decent nutrition – and anything to do with children and young people.

Originally from Canada, Sarah feels very privileged to call London her home. She loves all the green spaces around the city and her favourite is Beckenham Park Place. Sarah also loves the London food scene and the sheer amount of variety available to try.

Sarah is a self-confessed ‘foodie’– spending her time cooking food, eating food, reading about food and thinking about food! She even has her own food blog and is delighted that our office is so close to Borough Market.
