Nimat Jaffer

Strategic Programme Manager (VAWG)
A view across London on a wintery day. Parkland can be seen in the foreground and in the distance, the City, the Shard and Canary Wharf are all visible.

Nimat joined The London Community Foundation from a policy and strategy role in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire. Prior to that she worked in business and service development for Central Bedfordshire Council's Community Directorate and frontline at St Mungo’s, supporting young homeless people with complex needs.

Role

Nimat is our Strategic Programme Manager within the Grants and Impact team. She leads and shapes the strategic delivery of the £3m Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Grassroots Fund, developed by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), working in partnership with subcontracted learning partners and minoritised and marginalised grassroots organisations across London.

Her work focuses on strengthening the led by and for VAWG sector, supporting organisations to become more sustainable, visible and better connected to one another and sector stakeholders. She translates frontline insight into strategic influence by convening partners, contributing to sector learning and ensuring that insight informs future funding and equitable philanthropic practice.

We love London

Nimat loves photography and London is one of her favourite places to shoot. The cityscape by night and the diversity in architecture, culture and people make for some amazing captures.
