The Valesco Group, our partner since 2021, is a UK and European real estate investment manager headquartered in London. At the heart of their business is their commitment to giving back to their community, and we work with them to make a positive contribution to local, community organisations where they work in London.
This year, we are partnering with The Valesco Group to support them to achieve the aims of The Valesco Foundation (registered with The Charity Commission), which was established as the independent corporate foundation of the company. Their aims for 2022 include the advancement of education, the prevention or relief of poverty, the promotion of equality and diversity, and the advancement of health/saving of lives. The Valesco Group were particularly keen to connect with communities and organisations that perhaps operate under the radar, who they were not aware of but who are doing vital work to support communities in London.
As part of our partnership, we have now connected The Valesco Group with four local community organisations, and they are now providing them with support to deliver their vital services:
- Carers Network Westminster to support people living with dementia in Westminster with a lending library, with items delivered by bike to residents. Curated items for activities will be available, including items specially designed for African and Afro-Caribbean people living with dementia
- Community Education Foundation & Lyncx to support the education and wellbeing of young people in Lambeth through structured, arts-based activities during school holidays
- Goods for Good to continue and increase its work donating essential items to people living in poverty across London
- Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre to pay for a part-time IT tutor to support older people with multiple health needs in basic IT skills, including using the internet safely and staying in touch with loved ones
At The Valesco Group, we passionately believe that it is our responsibility to generate community impact through charitable and socially responsible initiatives – hence why we established The Valesco Foundation. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Laura and the team at The London Community Foundation. As a newly formed foundation, their guidance, expertise and network has been invaluable in connecting us with several worthy community organisations who we were previously unaware of.
