Knight Dragon

Knight Dragon is the lead developer of one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects, Greenwich Peninsula. With over 17,000 new homes, 12,000 new jobs and 48 acres of open public space emerging over the coming years, Greenwich Peninsula is an urban community with design and creativity embedded in its fabric. Over the last three years, £25million+ of social value has been delivered through local employment, community investment and environmental initiatives.

More than 5,000 people already call the Peninsula home, and with more than 1,500 new homes being built in the next 5 years alone, there has never been a more important time to invest in the community.

To demonstrate their commitment to building a sustainable community, Knight Dragon is investing £1.9m into the Greenwich Peninsula Community Fund. The fund will support the delivery of community projects that will have a positive social, economic and environmental impact on the Peninsula.

This fund will be administered through a grants panel with representation from Knight Dragon, the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Greater London Authority and the Registered Social Landlords.

Developing a new place from scratch, at this scale, is a unique opportunity and one we do not take for granted, in that the opportunity is matched by a responsibility to create somewhere wonderful for everyone. Our commitment to delivering a genuine and sustainable community at Greenwich Peninsula has seen us invest in many spaces, initiatives and projects over the last 10 years, and the launch of the Greenwich Peninsula Community Fund is an important milestone in the development of this place.
Richard Margree, CEO at Knight Dragon

The Greenwich Peninsula Community Fund will be open to VCSE sector organisations and all community initiatives will be directly delivered at Greenwich Peninsula. By working with existing and new partners to the Peninsula, the fund will maximise social value and community investment delivered during the Greenwich Peninsula development.

We are thrilled to partner with the London Community Foundation (LCF) in this inaugural year of the fund to deliver community projects that support our ambition of creating a thriving, active and sustainable community at Greenwich Peninsula. LCF’s connections with grassroots organisations will be valuable to build the social infrastructure of the local community and drive more voluntary organisation within the area to benefit the wider community.
