The Greener Futures Fund is a new fund created by Grosvenor and the London Community Foundation for the benefit of communities in Westminster and North Southwark (see map below). The aim of the Greener Futures Fund is to empower communities to take local action on climate change.
Grants of up to £30,000 per year are available to support work enabling communities to take climate action in Westminster and North Southwark. Applicants can request 1 or 2 years of funding in this round. The fund is expected to run until 2025, successful projects will also be able to apply for continuation funding in future years.
What can the fund support?
Applications must clearly be about local climate action and should meet at least one of the following priorities:
- Have a positive impact on the local environment
- Encourage local people to get involved in grass roots environmental activities
- Raise awareness of climate change and changing behaviours leading to more local environmental action
- Develop and share knowledge about the environment with others locally
- Provide skills, training or job opportunities for local people connected to the climate response
- Improve access to nature and nature-based climate solutions
Applicants may be based anywhere, but the funded work must benefit communities in Westminster and North Southwark (see map below), with priority given to those benefitting South Westminster and Bermondsey. Applicants must demonstrate good local knowledge and / or local partnerships and be able to report on the impact of their work.

Grants of up to £30,000 per year for 1 or 2 years of funding.

Midday on Friday 21st January 2022 (extended).

The fund is a part of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland’s new £1 million+ community investment programme focused on communities & the climate emergency, Greener Futures: People Powered. Aimed at improving lives in and around the places Grosvenor helps to make and manage, the programme will support training and job opportunities in the green economy, enable community-led climate action and support young people’s access to nature.
