£1.4 million invested to tackle violence

Back in August, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced a £1.4 million investment from the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) into community organisations tackling youth violence.

Investing in grassroots initiatives to combat knife crime is a top priority for the Unit, and this funding will enable projects funded last year through the MOPAC Knife Crime Community Seed Fund to continue.

We are delighted to announce that 37 organisations have been awarded grants ranging from £5,000 to £50,000.

Organisations received funding for a variety of projects, from awareness workshops for pupils, street outreach and martial arts training.
