London Marathon

I said I wanted to run London, just the once! The friends I met along the way and the pride I felt representing LCF continued far beyond the day itself. It’s why I’m coming back again this year!

Run for London

Registrations for the TCS London Marathon 2025 are now open.

The London Marathon is the world’s largest annual fundraising event. With professional athletes to fancy dress fundraisers running the famous 26 miles from Blackheath, through the City of London to the historic finish line in the Mall.

We ask each of our runners to raise £2,000 to support our work helping London’s community groups and charities and we’ll support you every step of the way. You will receive full fundraising support, alongside a runner’s pack full of tips and advice, a running vest and meet up opportunities with other London Community Foundation runners.

If you're awarded a place, you will be asked to pay a £100 registration fee (for successful applicants): and pledge to raise a minimum of £2,000

The money you raise will help us carry out vital work transforming local communities across London.

If you are already signed up for 2025 and have any questions, please email Chris on chris.dudek@londoncf.org.uk.

London Marathon 2024

The London Marathon is the world’s largest annual fundraising event. The 2024 TCS London Marathon took place on 21 April 2024 and saw an estimated 50,000 runners take part, more than any previous London Marathon.

Since the first London Marathon in 1981, the event has raised more than £1 billion for charity, including our team of incredible runners, who ran to raise funds for The London Community Foundation. So far, at the 2024 event, they collectively raised an incredible £46,500.00, with hopefully further donations coming in. This will help us to continue to raise and grant funds to support London’s grassroots organisations. We are extremely grateful for their support and hard work.

Got another fundraising idea?

If you have an idea to raise funds for community projects in London, you can set up your own fundraising page here. It might be a park run, a bake sale, a pub quiz or a sponsored sing-a-thon, every little helps!

If you'd like more information about how to start fundraising for The London Community Foundation, please email Chris at chris.dudek@londoncf.org.uk.

A marathon runner, wearing a red The London Community Foundation running vest, raises their arms as they run towards the camera. The name on their vest is 'Jenny'. Behind them and to the right of the runner are many more marathon runners taking part, wearing a range of different coloured vests and shirts.
