A Mancunian, Merlyn joined LCF with a wide background in areas such as project management, accounting and customer service. While in Manchester, he studied the AAT and also began a community kitchen, providing free meals to a diverse community. It was because of this drive to help people that drove Merlyn to change his career from accounting into the charity sector and moved to London in 2014.
Merlyn is one of two Programme Officers at LCF. This means he's responsible for updating our database with new applications and checking through documents and reports to ensure grantees are meeting their objectives. You might also recognise his voice - he's often the first point of contact for those calling into the office.
Ask him about
Food poverty and sustainability (due to previous roles), the importance of good mental health and how to tackle social isolation and depression within modern society.
We love London
As a relative newcomer to London, Merlyn feels there’s still a lot to explore. He's a big fan of the swing dance scene here and he's currently (although for how long?) a joint holder of the World Record for the Largest Charleston Dance, thanks to Swing Patrol!
Did you know...
That yes, his sister is in fact named Guinevere.
