Russell Prior to step down as Chair

Russell Prior OBE is stepping down as The London Community Foundation chair at the end of 2025, having completed two full terms. Russell has led the organisation with skill and expertise, ensuring the organisation has fulfilled its crucial role in funding and supporting London’s grass roots charity sector.
During his time as Chair the organisation has distributed over £65m, through over 4000 grants, to tackle some of London’s most pernicious issues. We have consistently risen to the challenge and increased funding to communities through turbulent times for Londoners, including COVID-19 and the ongoing Cost of Living crisis.
We were delighted that Russell was recognised in The King's Birthday Honours this year, for his services to charity and philanthropy as our chair. It’s a fitting tribute to his service to London communities. Russell leaves the organisation in good health as we continue to provide essential support to London’s communities at scale.
It has been a privilege and an honour to serve London’s communities as chair of The London Community Foundation. I have seen first-hand the significant difference that the organisation makes by supporting grass roots charities tackling the big issues facing Londoners. I’m most proud of LCF's response to Covid and the cost-of-living crisis, the organisation stood tall when it needed to.
I would like to thank the fantastic team, all the trustees who have served during my two terms, our incredibly generous donors, and most of all the organisations we support who make London a better place.
I will stay in post until the end of my second full term in December this year, and I’m excited to support the transition to the new chair, the recruitment for which starts today. - Russell Prior OBE
