Ben joined LCF after spending time at the Audit Commission, and later at Macmillan Cancer Support. Joining Macmillan as a Financial Accountant, he became Head of Financial Operations a year later which meant leading a team of 30 people during a time of great change in the organisation. Before all of this he studied History at university where he wrote a dissertation on the use of public works schemes to alleviate unemployment in 1930s Sheffield. Yeah…really.
Ben is the Director of Finance and Resources which means that he is responsible for all the organisational support at LCF. He handles Finance, IT, HR, Legal, Facilities, is the Company Secretary and a member of the Senior Management Team. Phew!
Ask him about…
Charity finance, technology in the not-for-profit sector and empowering people to achieve their very best.
We love London
Ben’s favourite place in London is the view from the statue of General Wolfe in Greenwich Park, especially on a quiet, crisp, clear winter’s morning. Having lived near there, he often headed up just to admire the view.
Did you know…
Ben has had an article published in the British Medical Journal. It was a book review of Malorie Blackman’s, Pig Heart Boy, and he was 14, but it still counts!
