Sport England is a new partner, establishing the Sport England Active Communities Fund in 2017. This exciting new Fund aims to get inactive Londoners more active, and in doing so, harness the power of sport to strengthen London communities. So far over £175,000 has been distributed to charities and community groups in five London boroughs where residents have the highest levels of inactivity, for projects that encourage and increase participation in physical activity.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Sport England to work with a new partner who can help us reach communities who are traditionally less active. We know small amounts of money can make a big difference and by working with The London Community Foundation we can identify community groups who can help support people to become more physically active and make a positive difference to their lives.Ian Parr, Head of Shared Service Centre, Sport England
