Over the past nine months, we’ve been busy behind the scenes developing our brand proposition and building a new website, with the help of the wonderful people over at Red Stone (opens in a new window). Big shout out to the studio, who we had lots of fun with on this project.
There are many of good reasons for an organisation to undergo this sort of exercise, but for us the biggest incentive was to make it clearer to understand who we are and what we do. Community Foundations have a long and complex history, and while they’re rich with ideas and assets, it can sometimes be confusing for those outside of the Community Foundation network to understand what we’re all about.
We’re a charity first and foremost, and we’re here to support grassroots organisations focused on helping disadvantaged London.
So, one of our key objectives from the outset of this project was to reinforce this, and to amplify the voices of the fantastic and talented community groups we’re here to support.
How did we go about achieving this?
We started by looking inwardly at our mission, our values and our point of difference. We then used this to inform our visual identity, which needed to be brought up to date so that we could better profile the many varied projects we support across the capital.
It was imperative that our new look and feel put strong photography at its heart. We know vital work and services are being delivered at grassroots level every day in London, and we want everyone to be able to see that.
The best place to bring all of this to life was of course on our website. But until now, we’d been using an outdated back-end system, that didn’t enable us to do all the things we wanted to. We’re really pleased to introduce new functionality and features to our new website, which is designed make the user experience much more seamless and enjoyable. The user journey is important to us, so we’re keen to hear your feedback as you get to know the new site - drop us a line with your thoughts at the address below.
Check out our new features:
If you’re looking to apply for a grant with LCF, you can now browse what we’ve funded in the last financial year, to get a sense of the types of project we support before you make your application. Within available grants, you can search by theme, borough or fund, whichever is easiest for you.
If you’re keen to know a bit more about us, you can visit our team page, or read our blog. And, we’re delighted to announce we’re now working with Charity Checkout, for all those looking to fundraise for us.
