Running for London - the 2018 Virgin Money London Marathon

By Lana Jakilazek

On Sunday 22nd April, 23 amazing individuals ran the 2018 Virgin Money London Marathon, the hottest on record, on behalf of The London Community Foundation. This included a 76-year-old checking off a bucket list item, a couple of repeat LCF runners and our very own member of staff, Lauren.

The atmosphere on the day was absolutely electric and we had a wonderful time cheering on all our runners at mile 12 and chatting to those, along with their supporters, who stopped by after the race at our picnic in St James’s Park.

We know a lot of hard work and dedication goes into the lead up and day of the marathon. We ended the day feeling extremely inspired and honoured by the commitment of our runners.

To date, this incredible group of 23 people have collectively raised over £46,000. This money will play a vital role in ensuring we can continue to support London’s grassroots organisations, and we are incredible grateful. So thank you again to our brilliant team!
