£1.58 million to Grenfell families from the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund

The Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund has made a further £1.58 million available to families of Grenfell Tower.

Each of the 158 families who escaped the fire will be able to receive £10,000 as of today from the Rugby Portobello Trust (RPT) and the National Zakat Foundation (NZF). Payments will be made by bank transfer only. To ensure the process is as safe and easy as possible, families do not need to be physically present to receive payment, but will be contacted by RPT and NZF to see if they want to receive the grant.

Official government confirmation has been made that grants distributed from the Dispossessed Fund will not impact benefit claimants.

Resentatives from the Evening Standard and LCF have begun a dialogue with groups representing survivors to understand how to best way to support those who have been affected.
