Grenfell Tower Emergency Appeal
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund in the aftermath of the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower. Over £6 million has been raised from individuals and companies, with donations continuing to come through. London’s community spirit and generosity have shone through when local people need it most.
Our relief support has so far included:
- Multiple payments in the immediate aftermath and now in the form of further relief to survivors totalling £25,000 per household
- £1.2 million contribution towards the joint effort to support those directly impacted
- Grants of £5,000 to 19 local community organisations who provided emergency assistance on the ground in the immediate aftermath of the fire
As of 15 August, £5.2 million of the £6.2 million raised through the ESDF has been allocated to survivors. We continue to work with the Charity Commission and survivors to ensure that all remaining donations are distributed to meet the needs of those affected.
